Common questions

What are Study Rooms?

Join-by-code spaces with a lobby. The host starts a Study Session for the people in the room.

How is this different from Study Sessions?

A room is the meeting place. A Study Session is the guided practice. The room hosts the session.

Is this an LMS classroom?

No. There is no attendance or timetable product here. Invite-only access request is not complete.

Can I join without an account?

The workspace requires an account. Create a ProfilEd account, then join with the code.

Why it exists

A cohort needs a place to meet before the practice starts.

Study Rooms are persistent collaborative spaces. Learners create or join with a six-character code, wait in a lobby, and the host starts a Study Session.

Rooms do not generate Story Quests or interviews. They are not an LMS, attendance system, or certified cohort product. Invite-only access request is not complete. Canonical conversion is create a ProfilEd account.

The workflow

Room, lobby, then a Study Session.

This section is illustrative. Do not use a Study Sessions screenshot as if it were the lobby.

Browse rooms, join by code, share the code, then start peer, group, or Observer Mode study.

  • Share a short room code

Peers join the same lobby without an LMS enrolment flow.

  • Wait for the host

See who is in the room, then start when ready.

  • Practise together

The host starts a Study Session attached to that room.

How it works

Three steps from code to session.

  • Create or join

Open Study Rooms, create a room, or enter a six-character code.

  • Meet in the lobby

Share the code or link. Wait until the group is present.

  • Start the session

The host starts a Study Session for the people in the room.

Fit

A room hosts a session. It is not the session.

  • The practice unit

Guided observe, ask, and respond. Can exist without a room.

  • A public demo

Watch AI Masterclass is Observer Mode without a lobby code.

  • Host a named room

Set topic and duration, then start when the cohort is in.

  • Not always-on class

Do not claim scheduled recurrence, auto-attendance, or complete invite-only access.

Claim boundary

A shared room is not a certified cohort.

  • Room

Membership, code, and lobby for the group.

  • Session

The Study Session the host starts from that room.

  • Join-by-code is not an LMS replacement.

ProfilEd does not treat Study Rooms as attendance, timetable, or certified group competence.
